BOTH rev limiter AND speed limiter exist in a Lumina.

On the car you refer to, you will find in PARK or NEUTRAL it will only rev to 4500RPM, this is the same with any "W" body GM car, however in drive, it will rev to 5800-6200RPM (?) depending on the engine, and there IS a top speed limiter on every "W" body. Most of them are set at 108MPH.

I have been holding back but I find it hilarious that some believe speed limiters DO NOT exist.

My 90 dodge daytona v6 was capped at 141mph. Plenty of revs before redline too. If i remember it was a fuel shutoff.

On an unrelated note my 82 datsun 200sx speedo stopped at 85 but the car could keep pulling. I swear officer i was only doing 85 hehe.

people like you are the reason i barely come to this forum anymore and only to laugh at you guys posting stupid crap.

there used to be a time(4-5 months ago) where posts were about realistic stuff and posters weren't saying stuff out of their arses and researching before. now it's more sxfunny club than sx4club.

but keep at it, i like to have a laugh sometimes.

I wonder what it's like being a sexual intellectual, generalizing, insulting and boring individual like yourself. You are entitled to your opinions. As it is said, "Opinions are like @&%*!+#'s, everyone got one". With that being said, I hope you have a great day.

Cool Re: Speed limit !

Come on guys....cut him some slack.
After all, he's from Petawawa!
Just that name, cracks me up!

But, I'm sure he's only verbalizing what a lot of forum readers are thinking (although, silently).
Some threads do get to a place where reason and sanity fly out the window.
