You removed the resonator too right? Replace it and it will sound close to the Suzuki Sport one. I had almost the same problem with the one in my car (Flowmaster) and after I replaced the resonator the sound improved 100%. May be later tomorrow I will go out and get a sound clip. Right now I just got out of knee ortho surgery so I feel a little groggy.

This is a Vq35de in a sentra se-r with a custom exhaust system and a berk intake. Now tell me where is the similarities between a inline4 made by suzuki and a Dohc 24valves 3.5liters v6 from Nissan?? Im sorry I dont wanna sound like an a$$ but I really dont see any resemblance...

My sx4 is completely stock...I would like the car to make a little more sound from an exhaust but im not willing to cut everything and weld tubes and shiat all together just to get a little more sound.. I was simply stating the fact that there is WAY too much drone in that sound clip. It sounds like doodoo imo and like a civic ricer wanna be.

Makes me a little hesitant about deleting the muffler and going with a 18" or 22" resonator. It would be a lot less restrictive that way though. I would like to get rid of that U-turn in the exhaust, going through the muffler.

Is there any companies that does cat backs for sx4s???

Oh, sorry I thought that was your car. Most of the people including myself have the same problem because the resonator was removed. On some cars it sounds good, but most of them are turbo, in the case of na, especially the SX4, you need the res to remove the drone and raspy sound.

I don't think an exhaust kit has been made to fit the SX4. It has been a while since I checked though... Most exhaust shops will be able to get and install what you need. I think the "key" to a decent exhaust sound, is the use of the stock or an aftermarket resonator.

Leaving the exhaust as-is and changing out only the muffler, maybe to the Magnaflow (14210) or Flowmaster, would be an improvement.

I really like my 14210 Magnaflow

Alright dude, you proved your point. You posted a modded VQ, which even in stock form is renowned for being one of the best sounding engines ever designed. Here's your cookie. I stand by my point though. Maybe one day I will get bored enough to prove it. There are three VQs of various types that live within a 100 yards of me and my lowly sx4.
